Throw FAQs

What techniques are used to make your throws?

Our throws are made using a variety of traditional techniques including hand embroidery, shibori tie-dye, mud cloth weaving, and pom pom handwork. Each technique gives the throw a distinct character and texture.

What size are your throws?

Our throws are generously sized to drape over a couch, layer on a bed, or wrap around your shoulders. Most are approximately 50" x 60", though sizes vary by style.

Can I machine wash these throws?

Most of our cotton throws can be machine washed on a gentle cold cycle. For embroidered and shibori-dyed throws, we recommend hand washing or dry cleaning to preserve the handwork. Check the care label on each throw for specific instructions.

Are these throws suitable as gifts?

Yes. Our handmade throws are popular gifts for housewarmings, weddings, and holidays. Each one is unique and carries the story of the artisans who made it.

What is mud cloth?

Mud cloth (also known as bogolan) is a traditional handmade textile technique where cotton fabric is dyed using fermented mud and natural dyes. The result is a distinctive, earthy pattern with rich texture. Each piece is one of a kind.
